Well its another sleepy week in the off-season for Eurofans. There are a few notable points of interest to discuss but now is the perfect time to embark on any fan project you have waiting in the works!
Host Cities
One of the more exciting occurrences is of course the host city selection process for 2021. It is still way too early to have confirmation in any sort of way there but the deadline has now passed for the initial stages of entering a bid. Seventeen cities/regions submitted bids and if you want to find out a bit more about them, check out our handy interactive map!
Eurovision Again
Eurovision Again – the series of Eurovision re-watches organised by Rob Holley and the European Broadcasting Union took place today. This week the contest was 1980, so if you want an official upload of that contest check out the Eurovision YouTube channel! Fan of these group re-watches will be pleased to hear it is set to continue throughout the (Northern Hemisphere) Summer season.
ESC Essence Split Result Collation
Here at ESC Essence there has also been loads going on. Alongside our usual blog posts and thoughts, we have started collating the Eurovision results split up by their jury and televote components. The aim is to create a way of quickly accessing and looking between multiple years’ split results without having to search through old webpages and broken links. This is an ongoing project, I hope many of you will benefit from. If you have data links or tables from previous years’ split results please get in contact with us. More information can be found out here.
That pretty much wraps things up! We hope you are finding ways to enjoy yourselves this off-season. If you are ever in need of more content though, there will be plenty more for you to enjoy here at ESC Essence! Remember you can always share these articles (haha you can’t blame me for asking) and until next time have a nice day!
